A 44 year old man came with abdominal pain and constipation since two weeks
Contrast-enhanced CT scan of the abdomen shows mild focal narrowing of the celiac artery just distal to its origin over a length of approximately 7 mm, with post-stenotic dilatation. Reverse J-shaped configuration of the celiac artery is noted distal to the narrowed segment. Mild thickening of the median arcuate ligament is seen. 3D volume rendered images demonstrate similar findings.
Named after the American radiologist Dr. J. Denis Dunbar. In 1965, Dr. Dunbar and his colleagues published a seminal clinical study in the American Journal of Roentgenology titled "Compression of the celiac trunk and abdominal angina."
