A 35-year-old man came with a history of left distal arm injury sustained with a woodcutting machine three months ago. He now complains of tingling sensation in the palm.
High-resolution ultrasonography of the left median nerve shows an ill-defined, hypoechoic lesion along the course of the nerve at the site of prior laceration. The lesion measures approximately 5 × 11 mm and extends for a length of 8.5 mm. There is loss of normal fascicular architecture with discontinuity of intervening nerve fibres.
