A 29-year-old woman came with primary infertility. She has been married since three years and was anxious to conceive.
The uterine cavity is curved and banana shaped, tapering towards one end leading to the the Fallopian tube on the left side. Free peritoneal spill of the contrast material is seen on the left side. The right cornua is not seen.
The fallopian tubes are named after the 16th-century Italian anatomist Gabriele Falloppio (1523-1562). He is credited with being one of the first people to describe these structures.
