Following full term normal vaginal delivery, this nine-day-old neonate was admitted to the NICU for icterus and poor cry at birth. There were hypoglycemic episodes on the third day of life following which the neonate was drowsy with poor feeding.
MR examination of the brain shows diffusion restriction with corresponding drop of ADC in the subcortical and deep white matter of the parieto-occipital lobe, frontal lobe bilaterally with involvement of the genu and splenium of the corpus callosum.
