A six-year-old girl was brought with signs of altered sensorium, wing-beating tremors and icterus. Biochemical investigations showed elevated liver enzymes. Serum ceruloplasmin levels were 5 mg/dl.
MRI of the brain shows diffuse T2/FLAIR hyperintensities involving the caudate and lentiform nuclei on both sides. There is diffusion restriction in these nuclei with subtle signal drop on corresponding ADC.
