A six-year-old girl was brought with signs of altered sensorium, wing-beating tremors and icterus. Biochemical investigations showed elevated liver enzymes. Serum ceruloplasmin levels were 5 mg/dl.

MRI of the brain shows diffuse T2/FLAIR hyperintensities involving the caudate and lentiform nuclei on both sides. There is diffusion restriction in these nuclei with subtle signal drop on corresponding ADC.

Wilson's disease is named after the British neurologist Samuel Alexander Kinnier Wilson, who first described the condition in 1912.
