A 37-year-old man presented with swelling of the left index finger following trauma one and a half months ago. He is a known to have hemophilia.
MRI of the left index finger shows a well-defined, expansile soft tissue lesion measuring 3.3 × 3.2 × 3.5 cm involving the distal aspect of the finger. The lesion shows T1 hyperintense areas with blooming on GRE, indicative of hemorrhagic products and hemosiderin deposition. Associated erosions/resorption of the distal phalanx and distal aspect of the middle phalanx are noted. The underlying flexor tendons are intact. There is mild marrow edema and joint space narrowing at the proximal interphalangeal joint.
