A 38 year old man presented with breathlessness since six days
The radiograph shows homogeneous opacity throughout the left hemithorax.. There is blunting of the left cardiophrenic angle.There is mediastinal shift to right and complete collapse of the left lung. The tip of the VP shunt is seen at the level of D11 vertebral level on the left side. The CT scan of the abdomen shows grossly enlarged pleural space with fluid content of CSF attenuation (avg HU+6) . The mediastinum is shifted to the right with complete collapse of the underlying left lung. The broken peritoneal end of the VP shunt is coiled in the peritoneum.
