A 32-year-old farmer came with weight loss, loss of appetite and abdominal distension for two months.
Ultrasonography of the abdomen was performed.
Peritoneal findings: Multiple ill-defined cystic lesions with variable internal echotexture are seen scattered throughout the peritoneal cavity, involving the subhepatic space, the paracolic gutters, and pelvic recesses. The lesions show internal septations and daughter-cyst–like configurations in several regions. Loculated peritoneal fluid is present. There is clustering and restricted mobility of adjacent bowel loops. Few peripheral wall calcifications are seen.
Liver: There are multiple peripherally calcified round subcapsular lesions in both the lobes of the liver, largest measuring 3.2 x 3.2 x 3.4 cm in segment VI. Similar lesions are seen in the right subhepatic and subdiaphragmatic regions, the largest measuring 4.6 x 5.7 cm.
