A 22 year old man came with abdominal distension and abdominal pain for four months
B mode ultrasonography of the abdomen shows well-circumscribed, anechoic cystis containing floating membranes and echogenic hydatid sand.
Contrast-enhanced CT scan of the abdomen confirms multiple, well-defined, round to oval cystic lesions of varying sizes in the liver, spleen and peritoneum. Many of these display internal septations and daughter cysts giving a multilocular appearance. The cysts are do not enhance; are homogeneous and do not show solid components or calcifications.
