MRI of the brain shows a T2/FLAIR hyperintense signal in the cortical and subcortical regions of both the temporal lobes along with vasogenic edema. The areas are hyperintense on T1 with blooming in SWI. There are areas of diffuse diffusion restriction in both temporal lobes.
