A two month old child was brought by her parents with complaint of swelling in the right lateral aspect of neck since birth. On examination there was no tenderness, redness or local rise in temperature.

Ultrasonography of the swelling shows a well defined, fusiform, heterogeneously hypoechoic lesion in the inferior half of the right sternocleidomastoid muscle. At the site of the lesion, there is loss of normal striated architecture of the muscle The lesion measures 10 x 15 x 5.6 mm and shows normal vascularity on colour Doppler examination.
