A 30 year old man came with loss of sensation over the lateral half of the right hand and weakened grip following an injury to the right wrist by glass shards four months ago.

Ultrasound examination of the right median nerve shows a focal area of hypoechoic thickening along its anterior aspect. The fascicular pattern of the nerve is maintained proximal and distal to the thickening.
