A 27 year old woman came with complaints of left supraclavicular swelling and pain since five months. An excision biopsy done earlier had been inconclusive.

The sonogram of the lesion shows an ill defined, heterogeneously hypoechoic area in the left supraclavicular region in close proximity to the left common carotid and subclavian arteries. The lesion shows vascularity. US guided biopsy was done.

Hodgkin lymphoma is named after Dr. Thomas Hodgkin, who first described the disease in 1832: Hodgkin was a 19th-century pathologist who studied at St Thomas' and Guy's Medical School. He was also a leader of the Royal Geographical Society and a founder of the University of London.
