A 18 year old woman came with complaints of epigastric pain, nausea and retching since two days. Her parents claimed that the patient had developed a habit of plucking her hair out when stressed.
Post operative specimen
Coronal and axial reconstructed images of a contrast enhanced CT scan of the abdomen with orally administered contrast show a distended stomach with a well defined, hypodense, non-enhancing lesion in the lumen extending upto the pylorus.
An upper GI scopy showed a ball of hair strands in the stomach.THis wa removed operatively.
