A 24 year old woman, known to have an anterior mediastinal teratoma. presented with breathlessness since 15 days.
Contrast enhanced CT scan of the thorax shows a large, well-defined, heterogeneous, peripherally enhancing cystic-solid lesion in left anterior, superior mediastinum measuring approximately 9x7x8.5 cm. There are areas of macroscopic fat and large coarse calcifications within the lesion. There is a 5 cm wide defect in its wall along the inferior aspect with rupture into the left pleural cavity and left lung. The left lung is collapsed.
