The frontal chest radiograph shows diffuse reticulonodular opacities with an overall Increase in lung density, producing a coarse interstitial pattern. These changes are more evident in the mid and lower zones. The HRCT scan shows diffuse marked thickening of the interlobular and intralobular septa with ground-glass opacities, giving a crazy-paving pattern.

Gaucher's disease is named after Philippe Charles E. Gaucher (1854–1918), a French physician who first described the condition in 1882.
