A non-contrast CT scan of the brain shows a long , linear hypodense object entering the brain parenchyma through the nasal cavity and the the ethmoid. The object traverses a distance of 3.7 cm into the left frontal lobe. There is surrounding hemorrhage with air foci in the brain parenchyma.
