A five year old girl, known to have a left duplex renal collecting system with an ureterocele was brought for follow-up after cystoscopy guided de-roofing of the ureterocele.
A five year old girl, known to have a left duplex renal collecting system with an ureterocele was brought for follow-up after cystoscopy guided de-roofing of the ureterocele.
Ultrasonography of the abdomen shows a well-defined, thick-walled cystic structure at the base of the urinary bladder. It measures approximately 1.9 x 0.5 cm. A defect is noted in the superior wall of this structure. Colour Doppler examination shows a ureteric-jet crossing this defect. Mild pelvicalcyeal fullness is seen in the upper pole of the left kidney.
