Beaten copper
The photographs show a prominent bony bulge in the region of the anterior fontanelle. Radiographs of the skull show asymmetry of the two halves. The orbits and the petrous temporals are at different levels. There is heaping up of bone in the region of the anterior fontanelle. The skull vault shows prominent convolutional markings (beaten copper skull). The sonogram of the head shows gross dilatation of both lateral ventricles with thinning of the cerebral parenchyma.
