A 24 year old man was brought with blunt trauma to the abdomen and chest due to a road traffic accident
A 24 year old man was brought with blunt trauma to the abdomen and chest due to a road traffic accident
Contrast enhanced CT scan of the abdomen was performed. The left kidney shows reduced enhancement with few hypoenhancing areas in the lower pole and the interpolar regions There is perinephric fat stranding with thickening of the anterior and posterior renal fascia.There is abrupt cut-off of the left main renal artery. THe right kidney is normal. There is an ill defined, non-enhancing , heterogeneous collection about 5 x 5 x 7.5 cm in the left paranephric space.
